What I Am Noticing

As I sat with a friend in Hospice Care, he asked me "is it suicide if I take the medicine to end my life?" I responded, "It's a choice, all the concepts that follow choices are just that, concepts. Your choices are your own, no need to define them." He went on to tell me how he and his body have been at odds for most of his life. I let him know that I can totally understand his experience and support his choice whatever that is.

Isn't this what we all need? A simple reassurance that our choices are our own. Everything that follows a choice is somewhat irrelevant from a bigger perspective. The human ability to choose or be aware that a choice is available is where we have a minute amount of input into our life experience. So much of what we experience as humans is out of our control and choice is the one thing that we can claim as our own.

Where We Are Headed Collectively

As we collectively experience loss and renewal there will be several choice points along the way. In essence everything that we do from the mundane to the expansive, creatives that we all are, choice is at the core of everything. Even the choice to choose what we know, what we have already walked through many times, is still a choice. When there is no judgment of choice, it simply becomes a navigational checkpoint. An information gathering experience about the being that your consciousness occupies and the status of that relationship. Some will choose to divorce themselves, others will choose vow renewals or first time marriages. Regardless of what is chosen, it is the momentary awareness of choice that carries the key. This key opens you up to deeper levels of relating to you and your body offering up new and old areas of investigation unique to you.
